LONDON, 13 November, 2024 – A new study from Seismic, the global leader in enablement, has found that almost all (92%) financial services leaders plan to invest in new technologies, predicting a 31% increase in their enablement tech stack budget over the next year. Moreover, 2 in 5 (40%) respondents expect a 40% revenue increase over the next five years by integrating AI into their Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy.

More than 330 financial services industry professionals working in Wealth Management, Insurance, Asset Management, and Banking across the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Australia were surveyed to understand how AI advancements are transforming client-facing teams such as advisors, bankers, relationship managers, and wholesalers.

Enablement’s responsibilities and tech investments are on the rise
While the majority (94%) of financial services industry leaders already use enablement technology at work, nearly all (97%) respondents said AI advancements and the ways they can bolster enablement efforts are a major driving force behind their increased tech spending. The study found that:

  • Companies that are ramping up their tech investment are doing so to bolster key business functions, such as managing rapid organisational change (60%) and adapting to evolving customer expectations (57%).
  • Nearly all (97%) financial services leaders said AI advancements are a major driving force behind the increase in their tech investment.
  • 95% said their ability to use AI tools at work for enablement tasks, non-enablement tasks, or both is another major factor in investing in new technologies.
  • 92% believe that AI will be indispensable in providing personalised customer experiences in the next 5 years.

“Changing client expectations and preferences, coupled with the promise of newer technologies such as generative AI, are reshaping the ways financial services companies operate,” said Kerry Ryan, CPWA® , Senior Director of Financial Services Industry Marketing, Seismic. “Our new study highlights the undeniable impact that the fusion of AI and go-to-market strategy has on boosting the bottom line. Adopting the right solutions empowers client-facing teams to adapt to evolving client demands, ensuring they can foster the deep, lasting relationships our industry is known for.”

Companies are adapting to better support AI adoption
The survey also revealed that the rise of AI offers more than just day-to-day changes within the sector. As part of this transformation, AI is expected to optimise key industry functions across sales (61%), marketing (61%), and strategy and operations (49%). More importantly, 85% recognise AI literacy as an essential skill for client-facing professionals. As a result, this has prompted firms to focus on developing AI skill sets across their teams:

  • Over two-thirds (69%) of financial services leaders have updated or enhanced/expanded training. More specifically, 91% of financial services leaders are prioritising their own AI literacy to motivate others in their team to use AI and 89% are prioritising the AI literacy of their team.
  • To ensure they have the right people for the job, 40% have evolved their hiring needs to allow for AI-driven transformation.

Technology buy-in is an uphill battle
However, despite concerted efforts to lay the foundation for the success of new technologies, most (92%) GTM financial services leaders continue to experience barriers to adoption:

  • Two-thirds (66%) of GTM financial services leaders have experienced significant barriers to AI adoption, with 42% citing financial resource constraints as a primary obstacle.
  • Over half (56%) said it is difficult to get the necessary buy-in from their team to implement new technologies at their company, with a misunderstanding of the purposes of AI from an executive (39%) and management level (51%).
  • 67% believe generational differences in leadership make it more challenging to get buy-in to implement new technologies at their company, and Gen Zers were 19% more likely than average to say this.

LONDON, 1st October 2024 – A new study from Seismic, the global leader in enablement, has found the overwhelming majority (90%) of UK Go-To-Market (GTM) leaders plan to invest in new technologies, anticipating a 23% boost in their enablement tech stack budgets over the next 12 months. Amongst the respondents, 87% envisage a 27% uplift in revenue on average over the next five years from boosting tech investment and merging AI with their GTM strategies.

More than 400 full-time managers and senior leaders in sales, enablement, marketing and customer success roles within the United Kingdom were surveyed to understand AI’s role on the rising influence and expectation of enablement teams. The study found that:

  • 91% of UK GTM leaders cited AI advancements as a key factor behind the increase in their tech investment.
  • 89% are increasing their tech investment to enhance their ability to demonstrate enablement impact, as new AI features enable leaders to prove ROI.
  • 93% believe their team’s reliance on technology has increased over the last 12 months, with 88% of respondents predicting this will continue into 2025, spotlighting the importance of future-proofing GTM teams with the right capabilities and tools.

“Enablement teams have become increasingly influential, driving strategic change and leveraging AI to optimise their processes and initiatives within their organisations – earning them a seat at the table with their GTM leadership and C-suite,” said Paige O’Neill, Chief Marketing Officer, Seismic. “The data is clear: if businesses are not looking to enablement technology to shorten the buying cycle and keep pace with customer expectations, they will be left behind.”

“This data certainly confirms the vision of enablement becoming a more strategic function,” said Romain Brun, Director of Business Operations, CybelAngel. “AI decreases time on tactical and time-consuming tasks for enablement professionals to focus more on being strategic partners for the business. With technology evolving and blending different functions of enablement, enablement investments are now seen by leadership as a comprehensive and strategic driver for results across the entire organisation.”

AI literacy is now a requirement
The survey also discovered that the majority (75%) of GTM leaders agree that AI will transform their industry within the next five years. The same amount of respondents believe that AI literacy is now an essential skill for GTM professionals. This has prompted them to focus on developing AI literacy across their teams, underscoring that training and coaching are just as vital to success as the technology itself:

  • Nearly all (97%) agree that they need to learn new skills to keep up with AI advancements.
  • GTM leaders have already launched AI-focused training programs, with 72% implementing them for current employees and 68% offering them to new hires.
  • Over half of respondents (55%) noted that their company is already offering custom AI training programs that are catered to different generational learning preferences, while 72% say they plan to offer this in the future.

Adoption challenges today, transformation tomorrow
However, nearly half (49%) of respondents identified financial constraints as a key barrier to implementing AI-powered solutions.

Generational differences in leadership also pose challenges, with over half (61%) of respondents sharing that these generational differences make it difficult to secure buy-in for new technologies. What’s more,66% revealed the term “AI” carries a stigma. This has led to almost half (48%) of respondents avoiding using the term in official communications, even when AI solutions are being used.

Despite the obstacles, optimism prevails with 92% of respondents predicting increased acceptance of AI across all generations within the next five years. Gen Z GTM leaders are at the forefront of this, as 93% are currently advocating for the adoption of new technologies within their companies, compared to just 66% of Gen X GTM leaders.

LONDON (June 18, 2024) – Seismic, the global leader in enablement, today announced new capabilities available in its Spring/Summer 2024 Product Release, including several AI-powered tools to help customer-facing teams excel at modern selling and make the most of every client interaction.

Today’s B2B customers control the buying cycle more than ever before, a trend that picked up speed in 2020 and remained steady since then. With more education and information at their fingertips, buyers are choosing digital self-service routes over working with a human sales rep – and as a result, only 5% of the buyer’s journey is spent with a salesperson, according to Gartner.

With buyers in the driver’s seat, Go-to-Market (GTM) teams must adapt to deliver the best possible experience at every customer touchpoint. Organisations investing in enablement technology are positioned to succeed: According to new Seismic research, 91% of survey respondents said enablement technology helps them provide a better customer experience, and 83% said their enablement tools will help their organisation maintain and grow its customer base in 2024.

Seismic’s Spring/Summer 2024 Product Release includes new capabilities that help businesses meet the needs of modern buyers:

  • Aura Copilot: Now available for early access, Aura Copilot drives GTM efficiency for enablement teams by speeding up and simplifying the creation of lessons, playbooks, and more. The generative AI assistant can tag content and generate descriptions at scale, saving precious time for content owners. With AI-generated analytics, GTM leaders can ask Aura Copilot questions about their data, such as how many sellers have completed a lesson or viewed a page, and receive answers in seconds. Plus, sellers can get in-the-moment access to the insights and content they need to close a deal. Learn more about Aura Copilot by clicking here.
  • Seismic for Meetings: To help reps better prepare for client meetings, enhanced workflows allow for seamless collaboration with colleagues ahead of a customer meeting, including the ability to define goals and objectives, set an agenda, and personalise content with ease.
  • New Seismic & Microsoft integrations: Combine the power of Seismic and Microsoft with upgraded integrations with Microsoft Copilot for Sales and Copilot for Microsoft 365. Additionally, Seismic for Meetings now integrates with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook, allowing reps to leverage Seismic right in the flow of their daily work.

“Sellers who are not prepared to maximize every window of opportunity in the sales cycle will fall flat. That’s why our latest product release arms them with the capabilities and resources they need to win,” said Krish Mantripragada, Chief Product Officer, Seismic. “We’re particularly excited about the launch of Aura Copilot after a series of pilot programs, which were met with high demand and participation from our customers. Our customers are eager to utilise generative AI across their enablement efforts, and we’re thrilled with the feedback we’ve received at this stage.”

Customers in the pilot program used Aura Copilot’s capabilities nearly 50,000 times across the Seismic platform to streamline manual tasks such as creating lessons, answering questions, and generating summaries.

“Seismic’s Aura Copilot has been fantastic for us. It’s incredibly easy to use and requires minimal review due to its accuracy,” said Jennifer Sutherland, Global Leader of Culture, Learning & Development, Trustwave. “We’ve used it for a variety of tasks, such as creating quizzes and course descriptions. This efficiency translates to a quicker turnaround for our salespeople, allowing us to swiftly implement new content, products, processes, and systems. The AI functionality within Seismic has been amazing, making our operations smoother and more responsive.”

Resistance to new technologies hinders enablement adoption among multi-generational workforces, Seismic survey finds https://seismic.com/uk/newsroom/generation-enablement-report/ Tue, 16 Apr 2024 12:59:30 +0000 https://seismic.com/?post_type=news&p=224607 Business leaders must overcome generational resistance to new technologies as 84% plan to increase or retain their investment in enablement technology in 2024

The post Resistance to new technologies hinders enablement adoption among multi-generational workforces, Seismic survey finds appeared first on Seismic.

]]>
LONDON (16 April 2024) – A new study from Seismic, the global leader in enablement, has found that almost two thirds (61%) of UK business leaders have experienced resistance to new technologies from various generational cohorts at their company.

Exploring the adoption, use and effectiveness of enablement technology in particular, the research discovered that enablement leaders have experienced reluctance from all generations, from Baby Boomers to Generation Z. Specifically:

  • Generation X came in high with 74% of enablement users recalling this generation’s resistance to enablement technology adoption at work.
  • Millennials are also resisting with almost half (46%) of respondents noting their resistance to adapt or change.

Overcoming this unwillingness is crucial for businesses aiming to attain higher levels of organisational success and maximise the potential of their go-to-market (GTM) teams. This is imperative as 84% of respondents plan to either increase or retain their investment in enablement technology in 2024, with 83% of those saying it is key to weathering difficult economic times.

Solving integration and workflow issues
According to the study, 42% of those who use enablement technology reported organisational struggle to fully adopt enablement technology, with one of the main reasons being that not enough of their internal workflow has been integrated with their enablement tools.

As more than half (54%) of multi-departmental enablement users record inconsistent and varying levels of technology adoption across GTM teams, business leaders need to tackle various factors they cited as reasons for this imbalance:

  • Varying levels of technology readiness (64%)
  • Lack awareness of how they could use enablement technology (51%)
  • More resistant to change than others (42%)

The need for custom training programs
Looking for a solution, 87% of respondents believe that comprehensive training programs, which cater to various learning styles and preferences, are critical when adopting new technology. While 91% agreed these programs are beneficial for all generations, the research highlighted the benefit for Generation Z in particular with respondents noting the speed of learning and adapting to new technologies as this generation’s top challenge, with a fifth (21%) experiencing trouble in this area.

Investing in custom training programs becomes even more critical as:

  • 86% of respondents believe that more generations will utilise enablement technologies in the workplace in the next five years.
  • 46% of respondents stated they would not work for a company that doesn’t use enablement tools.
  • Almost a quarter (22%) of respondents are currently considering leaving their company due to a lack of tools to support their success.

In an era defined by rapid technological advancement and evolving workplace dynamics, the most mature organisations are utilising enablement to tackle generational differences,” said Paige O’Neill, Chief Marketing Officer, Seismic. “Custom training, powered by enablement technology, empowers workforces of all ages. It is clear enablement holds the keys to the most significant challenges we see today: engaging customers, scaling GTM teams, adopting new tech, improving productivity, and integrating AI-powered workflows. Moreover, the data in our latest report reveals that enablement helps bring people together and is crucial for fostering an agile, innovative workforce.”

“Technology, enablement or otherwise, is only as good as its adoption,” said Patricia Peral, Senior Director of GTM Enablement, Beeline. “As enablement leaders, one of our core responsibilities is to ensure that those who we expect to benefit from any new technology understand both how to use it, and the value of using it – no matter their generation. Additionally, we must ensure that we enable on tools not only at launch, but continuously, as people learn and adopt at different times in their journey.”

The new Generation Enablement Report: The Rise of Enablement’s Influence explores how attitudes and actions towards enablement technology adoption, use and effectiveness vary across Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z. To learn more about the defining characteristics of Generation Enablement and dive deeper into regional and generational differences, visit the Seismic Blog or download the full report here.

METHODOLOGY
Seismic conducted the Generation Enablement survey online between February 22, 2024, and March 11, 2024. It reflects the opinions of 236 full-time employees in a sales, enablement, or customer success role at the management level or above in the United Kingdom, including 14% of those who have the title of VP of Customer Success, VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Customer Officer, Chief Sales Officer, or Chief Marketing Officer. AI linked to revenue growth: Seismic research reveals that 80% of sales leaders expect revenue gains from incorporating AI into go-to-market strategies https://seismic.com/uk/newsroom/ai-enablement-report-2023/ Thu, 19 Oct 2023 12:58:05 +0000 https://seismic.com/?post_type=news&p=203438 Data reveals that 4 in 5 sales leaders expect revenue to grow by 23% on average from AI utilisation over the next five years

The post AI linked to revenue growth: Seismic research reveals that 80% of sales leaders expect revenue gains from incorporating AI into go-to-market strategies appeared first on Seismic.

]]>
LONDON (October 19, 2023) – Seismic, the global leader in enablement, today released the findings of The State of AI in Enablement: 2023 Report. More than 200 full-time employees in a sales, enablement, or customer success role at the management level or above in the United Kingdom were surveyed, with findings presenting a positive outlook for the use of AI in go-to-market (GTM) processes as respondents expect investments in AI to pay off in dividends.

Despite facing economic headwinds, 80% of GTM leaders anticipate revenue growth from incorporating AI into GTM strategies. Among this group, the respondents predict an average of 23% growth from AI utilisation over the next five years.

With AI-enabled revenue growth on the near horizon, investment is on the up. 87% of those who use the enablement technology already have plans to further invest in 2024. These leaders anticipate enablement budgets to grow by 19% next year – a decision they largely attributed to advancements in AI, with the vast majority (85%) agreeing that these developments have motivated their company’s increasing investment in enablement technology going into next year.

While the data shows GTM leaders’ attentiveness to AI trends when making their investment decisions, it also identified a gap in their understanding of how AI is used in GTM processes. Despite the majority confirming that AI is a major driver for their investment in enablement, only half of the respondents (49%) said they are either very or somewhat familiar with the applications of AI in sales enablement.

It’s why enablement tools like Seismic are critical to support businesses with their use of AI, from facilitating seamless integration within a business’s revenue operations to realising benefits like accelerating speed to market, improving efficiency, boosting win rates and ROI, and more. What’s promising is that this information gap hasn’t prevented the march toward progress, with 75% reporting they would like to deploy more AI solutions for their team within the next 12 months, and 22% already confirming that they will get new budget or funding for AI-dedicated projects and initiatives in the next 12 months.

“The past year has been wrought with market challenges, which makes AI-powered enablement technology more crucial for business success than ever before,” said Doug Winter, CEO and cofounder, Seismic. “The proof is in the pudding: When an organisation’s enablement efforts are streamlined with AI technology, it drives greater GTM efficiency, operational optimisation, and better buyer experiences – all of which translate into a stronger bottom line. At Seismic, we are leading the charge to define the future of AI-powered enablement and look forward to working closely with our customers and partners on this endeavor.”

Additional key report findings include:

  • The majority (68%) of respondents believe that companies who fail to effectively incorporate AI into their GTM processes will fall behind their competitors within the next three years
  • The three top functions that GTM leaders are leveraging AI-powered enablement tools for are:
    • 63% use it for content analytics
    • 48% use it for content distribution
    • 46% use it for content creation, editing, and management
  • And businesses are reaping the benefits. Of those who have implemented AI tools:
    • 76% say that their company has noted an increase in customer satisfaction since implementing AI into their enablement processes
    • 83% noted an increase in brand engagement since implementing AI in its enablement processes
  • 78% of GTM leaders who have deployed AI tools report that they encountered initial hurdles before eventually realising positive outcomes
  • The implementation of AI technology takes time and does not come without challenges. Of those who faced challenges, 56% report integration issues, 54% report a lack of understanding, and 37% report issues with data consistency and quality
  • That said, the data is clear: the benefits far outweigh the challenges, with 47% of GTM leaders believing that AI is the primary force behind evolving customer experiences today

The war for talent, the Great Resignation, the Great Reshuffle – no matter what it’s called, today’s competitive job market continues to create challenges for businesses across every industry. Seismic’s Spring 2022 Release enables teams to improve speed-to-competency for new reps, hone skills systematically and scale consistent coaching, helping organisations better cultivate a more confident, effective and loyal sales team.

“Go-to-market leaders know all too well how inefficient onboarding, ineffective training and high attrition can lead to missing their number. Fortunately, a strong enablement programme can help solve these problems by equipping teams with the right skills, tools and content to ramp quickly, receive consistent coaching and effectively engage customers,” said Krish Mantripragada, Chief Product Officer, Seismic. “Our Spring 2022 Release focuses on enabling customer-facing teams to learn, grow and win in today’s hybrid, omnichannel selling environment.”

SAN DIEGO (27 April, 2022) – Seismic, the global leader in enablement, today launched the Seismic Enablement CloudTM, a first-of-its-kind unified platform to provide customer-facing teams with the right skills, content, tools and insights to effectively engage customers and drive growth.

As B2B sales processes continue to evolve for today’s digital-first environment, organisations have turned to enablement to help go-to-market teams engage buyers across the sales journey. But until now, enablement technology encompassed multiple sub-categories and point solutions across various systems and disjointed workflows. The Seismic Enablement Cloud delivers a modern, AI-powered platform to enable customer-facing teams, drive productivity and grow revenue.

“For more than a decade, Seismic has helped develop and shape the enablement industry in partnership with our 2,200+ customers. Leading organisations view enablement as mission-critical to their growth, and it has become a core part of the enterprise tech stack. Now we are revolutionising the space by bringing all of the pillars of modern enablement under one, unified cloud,” said Krish Mantripragada, Chief Product Officer, Seismic. “In this new era of selling, customer-facing teams need more than content management and basic analytics to engage today’s buyers. The Enablement Cloud redefines the boundaries of enablement, delivering the most comprehensive suite of products and solutions to empower the entire go-to-market engine.”

What’s in the Enablement Cloud?
The Enablement Cloud brings together Seismic’s industry-leading products, capabilities and integrations under one enterprise-grade platform to support end-to-end workflows for customer-facing teams, including:

  • Strategy and Planning: Plan, execute, measure and iterate enablement and training programmes in one coordinated, streamlined workflow
  • Sales Content Management: Build, activate and control content for sales teams, and make it easy for reps to organise, find and share customer-facing assets
  • Learning and Coaching: Onboard new hires, continuously train and improve the performance of teams with engaging learning, AI-assisted coaching and skills development
  • Buyer Engagement: Create compelling, personalised buyer experiences across all touchpoints and digital channels to move deals forward, including social media, email, digital sales rooms and more
  • Content Automation: Produce targeted content through dynamic templates and quick assembly – even those that require data integrations
  • Enablement Intelligence: Bring science to sales by equipping leaders with comprehensive insights into the behaviours, activities and content that increase productivity and deliver the best outcomes
  • Integrations: Give sellers access to Seismic no matter where they’re working from with more than 150 integrations, including Salesforce, Microsoft, Google and other Seismic partners

“When we understood the Seismic Enablement Cloud and the pieces brought together in that singular environment, it was very clear to us that it’s the trajectory we need to be on to have a better experience for our sales stakeholders. It’s critical for us to create a seamless singular environment that sales returns to daily,” said Ron Nagel, Senior Director of Sales Enablement and Strategic CRM Initiatives, Experian. “We’ve seen a 10% increase in deal size against similar business units when we compare who’s using the Enablement Cloud tools on a frequent basis.”

Explore the Enablement Cloud
With the Seismic Enablement Cloud, teams can realise value and unlock opportunities they may otherwise miss with disparate tools and systems, including:

  • New and unique insights that provide a holistic view of enablement programme performance. When content, training and engagement data are all on the same cloud, teams can easily identify, diagnose and solve for under-performing initiatives.
  • Ability to grow and scale enablement programmes without changing platforms. Whether organisations have a sophisticated enablement programme or are just starting their enablement journey, the Enablement Cloud is extensible and can grow to meet evolving needs and greater complexity.
  • One seamless, centralised workflow for sellers and customer-facing teams. Save time and make reps lives easier by giving them access to all the resources they need in one place.

To continue exploring the Enablement Cloud and see how Seismic enables teams to grow revenue, head to Seismic’s website or read more on the Seismic Blog. Customers can learn more about the Enablement Cloud by visiting Seismic’s booth at Forrester’s B2B Summit North America next week, 2–4 May, 2022.

Keep riding the next wave of enablement by registering today for Seismic Shift, the annual conference for Seismic customers and partners, returning this fall to San Diego on 25–28 October, 2022.
